The winter weather can take a toll on your skin. Here are 10 tips to keep you looking and feeling your best through the long winter months.

1. Lower the Thermostat.

The heat that is pushed through your house is pretty dry. Turning down the thermostat can minimize the amount of hot, dry air circulating. If you’re a heat seeker and can’t imagine spending your day in a sweater, try this. Just turn the thermostat down at night, A couple degrees can make a big difference when it comes to your skin, not to mention your pocketbook.

2. Invest in a Humidifier.

Buy a humidifier and put it in the room you use the most, like your living room or bedroom. Humidifiers put moisture back into the environment and can help cut down on dry skin and lips.

Although the idea of long hot showers may seem pretty inviting during our cold Alberta winters, they may actually dry out your skin if you indulge too often. So try to limit your shower time and heat level.
