Why Try Eyebrow Threading
Threading is an ancient method of removing facial hair. It originated in India and Central Asia about 6000 years ago. In recent years, it has gained popularity in Canada and the U.S.A. as an alternative to waxing or tweezing.
I tried threading for the first time about 15 years ago. At the time, I was getting ready for an event the next day and my regular “Wax Lady” wasn’t available. It was a totally different experience, but my brows never looked better.
Below, I’ve outlined some pros and cons to eyebrow threading. If you have never given it a try, I suggest you do it at least once.
PROS
It’s Accurate.
Unlike tweezing, threading can remove short rows of hair so threading can provide you with the perfect arch. You can get as much hair as you need and have more control over what you take out Threading removes the tiny hairs you can’t see.
It Lasts Longer
Generally, you can go longer between threadings than you can with tweezing because threading takes all the hair at once, no tweezing in between sessions. It’s easier on the skin than waxing. Threading is easier on individuals who are prone to pimples after being waxed or have sensitive skin.
It’s Safe
Threading is considered the safest way to shape eyebrows because it is always 100 % natural. There is less pulling on the face than wax.
CONS
It Takes Longer
Because threading takes out a line of hair at a time, threading can take longer.
It Can Be Painful
Because of the amount of time it takes, threading can be more painful than waxing and tweezing.
All things considered, I prefer threading. My brows are quite different. I found the control the threading provides offers a better outcome for my specific shape.
